What do Concept2 owners ask before booking?

Do you repair Concept2 RowErg, SkiErg and BikeErg machines?
Yes. We service all three, along with Concept2 PM5 performance monitors, for home gyms, CrossFit facilities, schools and commercial gyms across Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
What are the most common Concept2 faults you see?
The call outs we get most often are a PM5 monitor that will not turn on, a chain that is slipping or worn, shock cords that need replacing, a damper that is not working correctly, resistance problems, noisy flywheel operation, SkiErg cord replacement and BikeErg belt issues.
My PM5 monitor will not turn on. What causes that?
A blank PM5 can be caused by a number of issues, including the batteries, sensor cable or other components. We can assess the fault and supply genuine Concept2 replacement parts where required.
How often should a Concept2 machine be serviced?
It depends on how hard it works. A machine in a commercial gym or a CrossFit facility takes far more daily use than one in a home gym, and chains, shock cords and damper housings wear accordingly. Regular servicing helps prevent breakdowns and extends the life of the equipment.
The chain is slipping. Is that the chain itself or something behind it?
It can be either, which is why we do not start by replacing the chain. A chain stretches as it wears and will begin to skip on the sprocket once it is past its service limit, but the same symptom comes from a dry chain dragging, or from the drive system behind it. The chain gets measured for wear first, then we work back through the drive.
Does the machine have to go anywhere, or do you work on it where it is?
Where it is. Concept2 machines get serviced in place, whether that is a commercial floor, a CrossFit box, a school hall or a spare room at home. Nothing needs to be moved or freighted.
Are the replacement parts genuine Concept2, or equivalents?
Genuine. We use original Concept2 parts, purchased directly from Concept2, rather than equivalents. It matters most on the parts that carry load or take a reading, where something that fits is not the same as something that behaves the way the machine expects.
What should we be doing between services to keep a rower healthy?
Three things cover most of it. Keep the chain clean and lightly oiled, keep the flywheel housing and the fan clear of dust, and keep an eye on the shock cord that returns the handle, because it loses tension gradually rather than all at once. Our technicians will walk you through it on the day, which is the part customers tell us they value most.
